Comment MIXER for the details! (And don’t worry I Comment MIXER for the details!
(And don’t worry I even have a budget friendly option for you too!)

I’ve told you before and I will tell you again: you need a work horse of a mixer if you do any from from scratch baking in your kitchen

A few details about the Bosch mixer is that it will handle
14- 1 pound loaves at a time and can mix 34 dozen cookies as well

it can handle the big, tough bulky recipes like bread that you knead but it will also handle the delicate things like whipping cream and homemade marshmallows

I knew the @boschmixers was fast, but I was not expecting such a drastic difference in timing to make whip cream.

The speed & the efficiency of the Bosch mixer is a huge game changer for my kitchen.

I didn’t have any complaints with my previous mixer but NOW I SEE the difference and I’ll never go back

➡️You can stack my code (FLOURING) to save yourself an extra $20 run just comment mixer and I will get those details sent straight to your inbox

What should we bake next?

Happy Baking! 👩🏻‍🍳

Please don’t be upset with a recipe when you strug Please don’t be upset with a recipe when you struggle to make it

This is where I preach learning to harness your intuition with sourdough

Because when a recipe is created, it is with our home environments

Things we cannot control for your individual environments:
House humidity
House temperature
Your individual starter (because no one starter is exactly the same)
What flour is being used (fresh milled, ancient can behave differently than the organic all purpose flour I use)
The temperature of water you’re using
What’s your kitchen counter top like
Are you using metal

See…loads of variables!

This isn’t meant to COMPLICATE your sourdough experience but instead you might need to harness your intuition and hone some critical thinking skills

Remember each bake is an opportunity to learn and harness your intuition!

If you’re new here! Hi! My name is Boots and I’ve been using sourdough my whole life.

My way of utilizing sourdough is different than what I currently see and I’m on a mission to share THE COWBOY WAY of making sourdough

Sourdough is my culture

Sourdough is the means to which I create bread at home

And sourdough is my heritage, it’s my way to preserve my great grandfather’s legacy.

Happy baking!

This is the only method for maintaining my sourdou This is the only method for maintaining my sourdough I know. It’s the method my great grandfather taught us, what my dad did growing up and how I practice sourdough.

I grew up with sourdough and have seen how hardy and flexible and resilient it truly is.

My great grandfather taught us: if you’re not baking with sourdough, it’s hands off and lives in the fridge

What I gleaned is that sourdough can be a part of your life but your life DOES NOT need to revolve around sourdough. There is a freedom that comes with the Cowboy Way of sourdough!!

Here’s the short version of the Cowboy Way:
• we don’t discard
• we only feed our starter when we want to bake
• we keep our starters in the fridge
• we keep a small amount of a mother starter at all times
• we don’t feel pressured into making recipes we don’t typically eat
• we don’t spend a fortune on flour because we aren’t discarding
• we let sourdough be a part of our life
• we don’t let our lives revolve around sourdough

If this sounds like the style of sourdough you want to be a part of, stick around.

My goal is to show you HOW I bake and how you can too!

My name is Boots and I’m sharing about the COWBOY WAY of sourdough. It’s the way my great grandfather taught us to care for and use sourdough.

You see, he passed his starter down to my dad and then onto me.

Sourdough has always been a part of my life.

PS: share your sourdough questions with me!

PPS: no you don’t need to take your dough with you for stretch and folds either. That steps flexible too!

Let’s make sourdough simple again! My great grand Let’s make sourdough simple again!

My great grandfather taught us that when we are not baking our sourdough starter lives in the fridge and there is absolutely no need to touch it or feed it on the weekly basis. So if I’m not baking, I am 100% hands off. I only feed my starter when I am baking.

How often I bake is really determined by my meal plan for that week any special events I have going on or if I need to fill the freezer. So I could bake every week or it could be once a month or I even just went all summer long. (3.5 months) with my starter being left in the fridge.

Two feeding habits to implement if you’re maintaining your starter in the fridge:
-Remove your starting amount when your whole mixture is peaked and active when you are returning it to the fridge
-Feed on the heavier side of flour I always add just a bit more flour than what I need for the recipe because my starter likes to be thicker

HERES my baking rhythm:
When I bake, I look to see what my recipe needs/calls for.
-Remove my starter from the fridge
-Feed my starter according to the recipe (message me for the math)
-Let rest to become active
-Place the lid to my jar as a reminder to reserve my starting amount
-Once active remove my starting amount
-Then get to mixing and into the rest of the recipe
