Food is a love language For me, caring for my fa Food is a love language

For me, caring for my family looks like from scratch

Seldom do I use packaged or heavily processed foods, those are reserved for when I’m sick or under the weather as I’m the cook for my family

I truly believe ingredients matter, quality in quality out

We are all in our own stages of life so do what’s best for you.

Do your best to focus on quality first, the very best you can do for your budget.

99% of the time, I preserve the foods we actually 99% of the time, I preserve the foods we actually eat

But once in a while, I just have got to let my creative streak loose and well…

Banana Cream Puffs happened!

One box vanilla wafers
One bunch bananas
Cream Puff Cream

Line your freeze dryer trays with parchment paper and start placing the wafers down (one box per two medium trays)
Place sliced (1/4” thick rounds) on top of each wafer
Spread cream puff cream on top

PREFREEZE!!!
And run!

My other two trays I dolloped the cream into rounds

Enjoy immediately or save to have a fun treat later

We’ll use the dolloped cream for hot cocoa or I’ve already used them in my coffee for a fun drink.

Happy preserving!

I polled my stories but now I’m curious… Are you I polled my stories but now I’m curious…

Are you team load the dirty dishes because I have a dishwasher and that’s its job?
Or
Are you team they need a scrub and a rinse before they get run through the dishwasher?

Keep the comments civil!

But let me know…

I’m team load the dirty dishes because I have a dishwasher and that’s its job. I already do enough dishes by hand that I’m not scrubbing anymore. Let the dishwasher do its thing.

I have an @asko.usa dishwasher and it is AMAZING!

My hands put up a tantrum if I do too many dishes by hand, so I only do the necessary ones. Comment LINK for my favorite dish care products.

Now onto your CHOCOLATE CHIP & PUMPKIN SEED FRESH MILLED SPELT COOKIE recipe:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup cane sugar PLUS 1 TBSP molasses (or 1 cup brown sugar)
2 eggs
1/2 TBSP vanilla
3-3.5 cups milled spelt flour (I milled spelt berries from @grandtetonfamily)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
Optional 1/2 TBSP cinnamon

Cream together your sugar, molasses and butter. Add eggs one at a time and combine thoroughly. Then add your vanilla and mix. Meanwhile combine all of your dry ingredients (reserving 1/2 cups flour)
Add your pumpkin seeds and chocolate chunks and gently combine. If dough is sticky, slowly add remaining 1/2 cup flour. You know you have enough flour when dough isn’t sticky and holds shape.

Using your cookie scoop portion into balls and place on prepared baking sheets (prepared = parchment paper or silpat mats)

Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes

Allow to cool on baking sheets
ENJOY with a nice cold glass of milk right before bed
