but why protein

I’ve got 99 problems and protein fixed them all

Have you ever read about how Elijah threw a big ole temper tantrum and the Lord said you need a nap and some food?!

Don’t underestimate the power of a nap and clean protein!

The next time YOU are running on E and have no energy, grab some electrolytes and protein and feel the difference!

Protein BOOSTS your blood sugar and helps keep it stable for longer. Amplify protein with adding some fats and fiber for a blood sugar friendly meal.

But Boots, you teach on sourdough, growing & preserving food…why share this???

BECAUSE if I’m NOT nourished and furled with nutrient dense food, I have little to NO energy to do the things I enjoy like sourdough, growing and preserving food and cooking from scratch!

Staying FUELED is crucial for my everyday life

how to choose the best clean protein powder

One of the BEST tips I ever learned is to figure out how clean your protein is and much filler is in your protein powder find your serving size and compare it to the protein amount. If they are almost the same, then you have a large amount of protein to filler. That is one indication of a CLEAN protein.

For the equip prime protein, the serving sizes are 21-26g with a protein count of 20-21grams! Can I just say, this is almost unheard of! This prime protein really is PROTEIN! and its CLEAN PROTEIN, too

Other ingredients that often cause digestive issues are: soy, gluten/wheat, dairy, preservatives, and whey. if your protein has these ingredients, I would be highly suspicious that it is a clean protein.

In Prime Protein, there isnt any. You can be rest assured that you wont find these ingredients in the protein:

  • no soy
  • no gluten
  • no dairy
  • no whey
  • no preservatives
  • no hormones
  • no antibiotics
  • no artificial ingredients

So whats it made out of then? BEEF! In one serving you get the equivalent of 4 ounces of steak. ok hear me out. This is not beefy! this is actually the best tasting and clean protein powder I have ever had. I have had a lot (quick PSA if you didn’t know, my background and education is in sports medicine and athletic training and I worked in a PT clinic and ran our outreach sports medicine program, so yes, I do have a background with supplements).

If the prime protein is made with beef, then what’s the protein?? Collagen and gelatin. That being said, to make a really good smoothie and drink, whisk or blend. Do not shake with a blender bottle.

Lets get to some recipes.

If I’m not prioritizing MY health, I cannot serve my family.

Milk Maid Latte

12 ounces raw milk (if you dont like raw, thats ok!
1TBSP Maple Syrup

Coffee Variation: add an additional 10 ounces of coffee to your warmed mixture

Want to make it even more nutrient dense? Add a slice of sourdough bread or serve alongside some scrambled eggs for an even more protein packed powerhouse breakfast.

More Meal Ideas

  • 3 scrambled eggs with 1/4 cup cottage cheese (34g protein)
    • with one milk maid latte equates to over 60g of protein for breakfast
  • Ive seen others use the unflavored to add protein to their creamy soups, like potato soup, broccoli and cheddar, cream of mushroom which is BRILLIANT because you definitely dont want a vanilla flavored potato soup

Substitutions

While I do love raw milk, I know not everyone does AND I know its not always available. For that reason, I wanted to share Alexandre Family Farms milk, half and half, cream, yogurt, as options. It is vat pasteurized so its been heated slightly to preserve a little bit longer than that of raw but it still gives you a lot of the benefits of raw milk without being completely pasteurized. If you do want pasteurized, choose organic valley

Where to shop

I hope that you will use my link to shop and get your clean protein. Please enjoy 15% off your prime protein order when you SHOP HERE

and one more thing to add, if you’re in the market for a blender or are looking for my recommendation, I absolutely love the vitamix. I used the blendtec when I worked at a coffee shop and it did a great job.

My favorite flavors

  • Vanilla
  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Salted Caramel
  • (but I truthfully don’t think you can go wrong with any flavor Equip offers!)
  • And if you like a flavored collagen, consider the vanilla collagen to add another boost to your routine

Additional Health Behaviors

If I continually push away the things that I KNOW make me feel better to only replace them with more tasks or other things, I will run out of steam and my body will FORCE me into rest.

So what do I do? I prioritize whole foods and from scratch meals. If you need a simple meal plan that gives you recipes, grocery lists, nutrient information, checkout BeyondFit Food.
I use Metabolic Supporting workouts from BeyondFit Mom and Rachels Fit Pilates

Your health priorities may look different from mine and that’s wonderful and beautiful.

I hope to encourage you to do one thing today so that you will feel better tomorrow!
